Luxury Chalet with Private Spa in Nendaz

Chalet Ighzer is the chalet people book for the spa. It has a private 8 x 4m indoor pool heated to 30°C, a sauna, a jacuzzi and a gym, all for your group alone. Around it is 400m² of traditional chalet — exposed beams, warm fabrics and a central wood fire — sleeping 12 guests in five en-suite bedrooms, with views across the Rhône Valley.

The lounge and dining room share one big open space built around the central wood-burning fireplace, with large windows and doors out to the terrace. The kitchen sits a few steps up on its own split level, with a breakfast corner for slow mornings.

The master suite has a super king bed, its own fireplace, a dressing room, a balcony and a bathroom with twin basins and a separate bath and shower. Next to it is the bunk room, which is more generous than most: two wooden bunk beds, one with 140cm mattresses top and bottom, the other with full-size singles, plus its own balcony and en-suite. It works for adults as comfortably as for children. Two more en-suite bedrooms sit on the main floor beside the kitchen, one with a desk and iMac, and a fifth is downstairs near the spa, with a sofa bed for an extra guest.

Spread over three levels, the chalet suits two families sharing as easily as one large group — the children’s bunk room sits next to the master, and the other bedrooms are on separate floors rather than along one corridor.

Outside there’s a garden with a children’s play area, outdoor furniture and a gas barbecue, and parking for four cars including a garage space. There are 12 beds, plus a sofa bed that takes the total to 14 on request — usually for extra children.

This chalet is non-smoking. Small and medium-sized dogs are welcome on request, subject to the owner’s approval — send us a note about your dog when you enquire. We’re not able to accept cats.

The Spa: Pool, Sauna, Jacuzzi & Gym

Getting There & Parking

A car is essential all year.

Getting there: the most direct road is a steep village road. In winter, take the longer, gentler route instead — we send directions showing both before you arrive.

Winter: a 4×4 or snow chains are mandatory in the ski season.

Parking: four cars at the chalet, one of them a garage space.

The Tracouet gondola is about a five-minute drive.

Skiing from Chalet Ighzer

Chalet Ighzer isn’t ski-in/ski-out — it sits on its own land above the village, which is why the views are what they are. The Tracouet gondola is about a five-minute drive, and the piste at Les Clèves is roughly a ten-minute walk from the door.

Skiing back to the chalet is possible, but only with good snow and only if you’re a confident skier — it isn’t a groomed piste. Most guests drive or walk, and treat the ski-back as a bonus on the right day rather than the plan for the week.

What makes the distance easy to live with is what’s waiting when you get home: boots go straight into the ski room to dry, and the sauna and pool are downstairs.

Chalet Ighzer in Summer

In summer the garden comes into its own: a children’s play area, a gas barbecue and a terrace looking out over the Rhône Valley. Rates drop to CHF 9,500 a week, or CHF 8,500 for a 1–4 night break. Spend the day hiking from the Tracouet gondola up to Lac Noir or riding the new Tracouet flowtrail, then come back for a swim and a sauna. If it rains, the afternoon simply moves downstairs to the pool, sauna and gym.
