Nendaz is easier to get to than most people expect. Geneva Airport is about two hours away by car or train, and Zürich is about three. You can travel however suits your group: a private transfer, the train and bus, or a hire car. Once you’ve booked one of our chalets, we’ll point you to trusted local companies so the first thing you do in Nendaz is unpack, not look for a taxi.

This is the easiest option if you’re travelling with children, ski bags or a lot of luggage. A driver meets you in arrivals and takes you straight to your chalet. You don’t change trains or wait for a bus, and nobody needs to drive after a flight. Once you’ve booked one of our chalets, we’ll send you our recommended transfer companies. You contact them directly with your flight details and group size.
Good to know: most of our chalets need a car during your stay (see below). If yours does, hiring a car at the airport is usually simpler than a transfer.

Switzerland’s trains are a pleasure to use, and Sion is the station for Nendaz. There’s a direct train every hour from Geneva Airport to Sion. It takes about two hours, and the first stretch runs along Lake Geneva. From Zürich, allow around three hours with one or two changes.
From Sion station you have two choices:

The train works best for Chalet Condor and Chalet Le Lodge, which are within walking distance of the village and the free ski bus. For our other chalets you’ll need a car during your stay.
All the main rental companies are at Geneva and Zürich airports, and the drive is easy. Take the A9 motorway to Sion, leave at Sion-Ouest, and it’s about 15 km up to Nendaz. From Geneva it takes about two hours. From Zürich, allow about three.

For most of our chalets, yes. Most of them are above the village of Nendaz, and the local bus doesn’t reach every location.

Les Clèves is a private, elevated corner of Nendaz close to the Jean-Pierre piste. In winter there’s no road access to the chalets themselves, so you park at the private Les Clèves car park, about an 8–10 minute walk away. You don’t need to carry your bags through the snow: on arrival and departure day, a Polaris Ranger (up to two passengers plus luggage) takes you and your bags between the car park and the chalet. Three return trips per group arrival are included in the rental price. Extra trips can be booked with 24 hours’ notice and are paid to the driver. This is useful if your group arrives at different times.
In summer you can drive right up and park at the chalet.
How do I get from Geneva Airport to Nendaz? The quickest way is by car or private transfer, which takes about two hours to cover 165 km. You can also take the direct hourly train from Geneva Airport to Sion (about two hours), then the PostBus or a taxi up to Nendaz.
How long is the transfer from Geneva to Nendaz? Around two hours by road in normal traffic. On winter Saturdays, when most ski chalets change over, allow more time.
Can I get to Nendaz by train? Not directly. Nendaz has no train station. Take the train to Sion, then PostBus line 362 to Haute-Nendaz (about 35 minutes) or a taxi from Sion station.
What’s the nearest airport to Nendaz? Sion Airport is only 15 km away and is mainly used by private aviation. For scheduled flights, Geneva is the closest major airport (165 km), followed by Milan Malpensa (210 km) and Zürich (285 km).
Do I need a car in Nendaz? For most of our chalets, yes. A car is essential all year at the Les Clèves chalets (Le Dahu, Orignal, Kalibu, Sorbier), Ighzer and Cygnet. Chalet Condor and Chalet Le Lodge are the exceptions: both are a short walk from the village, with a free ski bus nearby.
Do I need a 4×4 in Nendaz? For the Les Clèves chalets, a 4×4 or snow chains are required in winter to reach the car park. For our other chalets, winter tyres are a must and snow chains are recommended if you’re not in a 4×4.
How do I get my luggage to a Les Clèves chalet in winter? You don’t carry it. A Polaris Ranger takes you and your bags between the Les Clèves car park and the chalet on arrival and departure day. Three return trips are included in the rental price.
