Chalet Sorbier sits in Les Clèves, the same quiet, elevated pocket of Nendaz as Kalibu and Dahu, without giving up what makes a ski chalet feel like a proper break: your own sauna and a private outdoor jacuzzi, used by no one but your group.

Across three levels and 200m², five bedrooms sleep 11 guests, with four bathrooms between them. The top floor holds the master double with its en-suite shower, a bunk room with an adult-sized bunk plus a single bed, and a further double with its own en-suite. A mezzanine off the top floor gives families somewhere the main living space doesn’t — a reading corner, a spot for the kids’ games, or simply an overflow when the lounge is full. Two more double or twin bedrooms sit on the lower floor sharing a bathroom.

The kitchen comes with a Nespresso machine and proper raclette and fondue sets — not an afterthought in a region where both are the point of a mountain dinner — and the lounge is built around a wood-burning fireplace, with a Smart TV for the evenings you’d rather not cook.

The Sauna & Jacuzzi

• Indoor sauna with its own shower — usable whatever the weather, no walk outside in ski boots
• Private outdoor jacuzzi, for your group alone
• Jacuzzi drained and refilled on changeover day for hygiene, so it may not be warm on your first evening
• By local regulations, the jacuzzi can’t be used after 10pm
• Please shower before getting in — sunscreen, insect repellent and make-up cloud the water fast, and repeated cleaning can put the jacuzzi out of use for up to 48 hours
• In summer, the jacuzzi is available on request

Skiing from Chalet Sorbier

Chalet Sorbier is ski-out. In good snow, a short unpisted track leads down from the door to the Jean-Pierre piste, about 350m away. It takes no more than 5 minutes on skis to get from the chalet to the gondola but a minimum of experience is needed.

Skiing back up is a different matter, and one worth understanding before you rely on it. It suits intermediate to advanced skiers only, and it isn’t along a piste: at one point you’ll need to cross a cleared path, where it’s easier to take your skis off and put them back on on the other side, then continue through unpisted terrain back to the chalet. Early in the season, or right after fresh snow, nobody may have skied this route yet — if you’re first, you’ll be making your own tracks.

If that’s not for you, the walk back is easy: a nearly flat road, less than 350m to the chalet.

Getting There & Parking

Les Clèves is a private, elevated pocket of Nendaz with no direct road access to the chalets in winter — parking is a short walk away, or a quick shuttle ride, rather than right outside the door.

• A car is essential all year.
• Winter parking: three spaces reserved at the Les Clèves car park, about a 10-minute walk to the chalet.
• Winter access: a 4×4 or snow chains are mandatory to reach the car park.
• Included shuttle: three return Polaris trips on arrival and departure days, plus two shopping trips during your stay. If your group arrives at different times or days, additional transfers are available at an extra cost, payable to the chauffeur at the time of the transfer.
• Summer parking: two spaces at the chalet itself.
• Haute-Nendaz centre: about 20 minutes downhill by road, or 15 minutes on the hiking path — allow longer coming back up.
• Check-in / check-out: arrival from 4:30pm, departure by 10am.

Chalet Sorbier in Summer

Summer turns the jacuzzi into part of the evening rather than the après-ski, and the mezzanine keeps the kids happily occupied through a lazy afternoon. From CHF 3,750 a week, or CHF 2,950 for a short 1–4 night break. Set out from Les Clèves for a morning of hiking or mountain biking, then come home to your own sauna instead of another hot shower.
