Data we collect

When you contact us or send an enquiry: your name, email address, phone number, the dates and chalet you are interested in, and anything you write in your message.

When you book: the details needed for your rental contract and stay: the name, address and contact details of the person booking, the names and ages of the guests, your arrival and departure dates, payment details and correspondence about your booking.

When you visit the website: technical data such as your IP address, browser, device, the pages you visit and the date and time of your visit. Some of this is collected through cookies (see below).

Why we use your data

  • To answer your enquiries and send you offers you have asked for
  • To prepare and carry out your rental contract on behalf of the chalet owner, including payments, the tourist tax and looking after you during your stay
  • To meet our legal obligations, for example accounting and tourist tax records
  • To keep the website secure and working, and to understand how it is used so we can improve it

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

  • The chalet owner, only as far as needed for your booking
  • The commune of Nendaz and other authorities, where the law requires it (for example for the tourist tax)
  • Service providers who process data for us:
    • Hostpoint AG (website hosting, Switzerland)
    • Google (email through Google Workspace, Google Analytics, Google reCAPTCHA on our contact form, and Google Maps and Google Fonts on our pages)
    • Cloudflare (website security and speed)
    • Worldpay (card payments). We never see or store your full card number.

Some of these providers, such as Google and Cloudflare, may process data in the United States or other countries. We only use providers that protect your data with appropriate safeguards, such as certification under the Swiss-US and EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the standard contractual clauses approved by the Swiss and EU authorities.

Contact form and reCAPTCHA

Our contact form sends your message to us by email. To protect the form from spam, we use Google reCAPTCHA, which checks whether a form is filled in by a person. For this, Google receives technical data such as your IP address and information about your browser.

Cookies and Google Analytics

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use:

  • Necessary cookies, for example to remember your language and to protect the site (WPML, Cloudflare)
  • Analytics cookies from Google Analytics, which tell us how many people visit the site, where they come from and which pages they read. The reports we see do not identify you personally.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can stop Google Analytics from collecting your data with Google’s browser add-on: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

How long we keep your data

  • Bookings and invoices: 10 years, as required by Swiss accounting law
  • Enquiries that do not lead to a booking: 2 years
  • Website logs and backups: for a limited period only, then deleted. Backups are stored with Metanet.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time:

  • what data we hold about you, and for a copy of it
  • to correct data that is wrong
  • to delete your data, unless we must keep it by law
  • to stop using your data for a particular purpose

Write to us at [email protected]. If you are not satisfied with our reply, you can contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), or, if you live in the EU, your local data protection authority.

Security

We protect your data with appropriate technical and organisational measures, including an encrypted (https) connection on our website.

Changes

We may update this policy when our website or services change. The current version is always on this page.
