Chalet Orignal — Space to Spread Out in Les Clèves

Chalet Orignal sits in Les Clèves, the same quiet, elevated pocket of Nendaz as Kalibu, Sorbier and Le Dahu — set back from the village with open mountain views. It’s built for a group that wants room to split up as much as room to gather: across 250m², five bedrooms sleep 12 guests over five bathrooms, with three separate lounges and a home cinema. For larger groups, the owner’s own private en-suite bedroom can be released on request, taking the chalet to six bedrooms and 14 guests.

Across three floors, the top floor holds two en-suite double bedrooms sharing a separate toilet, each with its own TV. Downstairs, two further en-suite double/twin bedrooms sit either side of a bunk room with four adult-sized beds and its own bathroom with a bath. The main floor holds two of the three lounges — the combined living and dining area, which opens onto a second, separate lounge with its own wood-burning fireplace and panoramic views. On the lower floor, a dedicated home cinema room with a projector, screen and Marantz speaker system sits alongside the third lounge. The kitchen comes with a Nespresso and filter coffee machine, plus a proper cheese fondue set.

This chalet is non-smoking. Small and medium-sized dogs are welcome on request, subject to the owner’s approval — send us a note about your dog when you enquire. We’re not able to accept cats.

Skiing from Chalet Orignal

Chalet Orignal isn’t genuine ski-in/ski-out, and the honest version is still a good one — the same route used from Chalet Kalibu just up the road: when snow conditions allow, a snowy path leads from the chalet down to the Jean-Pierre piste, about 300m away, continuing on to the Tracouet gondola roughly 5 minutes further for a confident skier.

Skiing back up is possible but has real conditions attached — it isn’t along a piste, and part of the return crosses a cleared path, best done on foot with your skis off before continuing through unpisted terrain to the chalet. If that’s not for you, the walk back is straightforward and approximately 200m. Boots and skis go straight into the ski room by the lower entrance to dry.

Getting There & Parking

Les Clèves is a private, elevated pocket of Nendaz with no direct road access to the chalets in winter — parking is a short walk away, or a quick shuttle ride, rather than right outside the door.

• A car is essential all year.
• Winter parking: main car park at Les Clèves (2 spaces), about an 8-minute walk from the chalet on a flat path.
• Winter access: a 4×4 or snow chains are required to reach the Les Clèves car park.
• Additional winter spaces: 2 further spaces below the chalet itself, usually accessible with a 4×4.
• Included shuttle: three return Polaris trips on arrival and departure days from Les Clèves; further trips can be arranged with 24 hours’ notice. If your group arrives at different times or days, additional transfers are available at an extra cost, payable to the chauffeur at the time of the transfer.
• Summer parking: the same 2 spaces below the chalet, unrestricted.
• Haute-Nendaz centre: about 20 minutes downhill by road, or 15 minutes on the hiking path — allow longer coming back up.
• Check-in / check-out: arrival from 4:30pm, departure by 10am.
